About Me

I have a Masters of Science in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Therapy with over 15 years of experience working with women, children, and families.

Educational and Professional Background

In 2009, I graduated with a Masters of Science in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since then I have had 15 years of experience working with women, children and families. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience treating individuals with a wide array of mental health concerns, including frequent worry and intrusive thoughts, difficulty concentrating, difficulty sleeping, issues with low motivation and loss of interest in activities.

Some disorders that I commonly treat are adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and complex trauma.

For 9 of those 15 years, I worked for a county entity, serving many families who were survivors of domestic violence, physical abuse and/or sexual abuse. I also served children within the foster care system and was able to provide advocacy for their needs. I also spent time working for a non-profit organization that fights against human trafficking of children. With that organization, I was also able to lobby for bills aimed at holding traffickers and buyers accountable for their crimes against children. Currently, within in my own practice, I partner with women, who desire to address the pain of their past in order to move forward in the future and hope they were destined for. I also work with adolescents and their families, in order to address dysfunctional family patterns and assist families with working together to develop interpersonal resolutions.

My Mission

To see God’s daughter’s live in the destiny to which they have been called. Throughout the bible we see God’s heart for women. I am reminded of Hagar, when feeling shunned and alone, God met her in the wilderness. I am reminded of Ruth, a widow who was not forgotten by God. God sent a Kinsman Redeemer named Boaz, and provided Ruth with a new family.

I am reminded of Leah, unseen by her own husband, yet seen and loved by the Lord. I reminded of Hannah, who dealt with infertility, and yet God heard her cry and answered her prayer. The list goes on and on when it comes to women who God loved and redeemed. That is why it is my mission to co-labor with the Lord and partner with women in their healing journeys. Just as God never allowed these women mentioned above to walk alone in their pain, God does not want you to walk alone in your emotional pain. God is wonderful, counselor and I just get to partner with Him in this inner work of emotional healing and mental wellness.

More About Me

Faith/Spirituality: Mind, Body, Spirit

I am extremely passionate about bringing myself into alignment with how God created me- Mind (soul), Body and Spirit. Health and fitness have always been a huge part of my life. I started my health journey exploring weight training but quickly transitioned to high-endurance sports. Although I continue to love these sports, there was a time when my whole focus was on physical fitness. All the while, I was neglecting my soul and failing to prioritize my relationship with Jesus. I felt strong physically but felt weighed down and easily triggered by the painful wounds of my past. Therefore, it left me ill-equipped to navigate my personal and professional relationships.

It wasn’t until I truly dived into some deep soul care that I experienced true healing in my heart. I extended forgiveness because I too have been forgiven. And I embraced the fact that whether people or situations change, I can still live the abundant life God desires for me. Most importantly, I learned that I needed to nurture my relationship with Jesus daily. Weekly, was not not sufficient and continued to struggle with issues of poor self-control. I recognized that I could not leave Jesus out of any part of my life-as my creator He is the best fitness coach, health coach, counselor and Savior. Through God’s word and my relationship with Jesus, I learned who I am in Christ and the identity I carry as a daughter of the Most High God. God’s word has taught me that I am fearfully and wonderfully (Psalm 139:14) made in the image of my creator. I can hold onto the truth that I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37) and that nothing in ALL creation can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). In John 15:5, Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” I truly believe that every aspect of how we were created must be cared for and nurtured, in order to live that abundant life that God designed us to live.
